Hello gentle Americans.  Last night I had a small viewing party for my appearance on the recently canceled ABC comedy, UGLY BETTY.  It was just a bottle of Martinelli’s, my cat TItty and myself. Personally I am glad I did not make a big hoopla about it because, frankly, sitting through an episode of Ugly Betty is like getting your molars removed without any Novocain.

Betty comes across as a spoiled self centered twat who needs her head handed to her on a platter.  The only cast members I really enjoyed are the receptionist-Amanda Tanen (Becki Newton) and Mark St. James (Micheal Urie), Wilhelmina’s former assistant who was recently promoted to junior fashion editor.  Vanessa Williams is hot but they don’t give her enough to do.  Kristen Johnston’s (Third Rock From The Sun) guest appearance as the new receptionist was cute, but what has happened to her?  She looks like shit and she has the voice of a 75-year-old smoker.  As for the drag scenes, the first one at the beginning of the show was lacking any energy or spark; something that good drag ripples with.  But than again they hired Vanessa Williams’s brother to play her drag self-Wilehellmina Hater!  He was too pudgy for the part and had no spark; nepotism at it’s finest.  Justin Bond as Manna Wintour was delightful, she should really think of developing the character for a one-woman show.

The final drag scene had core energy to it because Vanessa Williams has a chance to shine.  She enters the drag club wanting to stop her imposter from performing and get’s mistaken for a drag queen and gets pushed onto the stage by yours truly-Hedda Lettuce. She dazzles the crowd with several musical numbers and gets promoted to lead showgirl.  You go girl! I happen to think I look rather luscious in my short-lived moment.  But there is not so thing as small parts; there are only small actors.  Frankly, many gentleman callers have told me, I am very large in the department that matters most.  No, not my ego assholes.

Will I watch another episode of Ugly Betty every again? Never!  Can I see why the show is being canceled?  Absolutely! I am happy to have been part of the magic of television? You bet your life baby; because when television calls you pick the phone.
