Hello gentle Americans.  Last nights show at Club Nautico was a hoot!  Here are some pics from an evening of reverie.  This may be my last correspondence for a week; I head out on a cruise today till Nov 2nd.  Have a happy Halloween!

Hello gentle Americans.  I have arrived safely in Tampa, resting comfortably in the hotel; waiting for my show tonight at Club Nautico in St. Petersburg.

My flight on Continental Airlines was lovely and I had the pleasure of sitting next to this woman and her young son.  He was about 3 years old, bowl haircut with big bright eyes.  He reminded me of myself at that age and in more ways than just his looks.  I could tell instantly that this little boy was gay.  How do I know?  You just do.  He was funny and smart and very social, tapping me on the shoulder throughout the trip to ask me questions. “What is your favorite color?” “How old are you?” Do you believe in ghosts?”  Towards the end of the trip he turned to his mother and said,
“Do you dream mommy?”

“I do have dreams, but I rarely remember them.”

“Could you tell me a dream mommy?”

She sat still for a moment, silent than took a deep breath and said, “I dream that you are going to play high shcool football and you are going to get a scholarship to a wonderful college.  What do you think about that?” He looked at his mother with his big eyes and said, “I don’t like that dream mommy.”  You could tell her heart sank a bit. “Your daddy would also like that dream to come true as well.”  I felt for her, she wanted what most mothers want in life-a straight young son or daughter.  Something that appears normal.  But instead she has this wonderful little queer boy. She loved him deeply though but was obviously conflicted. I wanted to turn to the kid and say, “I have a dream for you as well.  That you are going to be a big old drag queen, wearing mile high hair, hooker heels and pounds of makeup.  You will make many people very happy.”  I wonder what he would have said to that?  Perhaps his sweet face would beam with a big smile and say, “I like that dream a lot.  Tell me more.”
